POWER STUDY SESSIONS
On Saturday, November 21, 2015, prefects from the SLO® Academic Department held a number of Power Study sessions in the run-up to exam week. With the help of teachers and AQCs, SABIS® SUN students tutored their fellow peers who needed additional help mastering a number of concepts taught in class.
Power study sessions were broken up into small groups of students working together. Grade 5 academic prefects worked with Grade 1 students, while grades 4, 6, 7, and 8 tutored students from the same level.
Parents were pleased to bring their children to school on a Saturday for educational purposes. Parents of prefects were proud of their children who were chosen to be peer tutors, and parents of children who attended the Power Study Sessions were equally proud of their children’s efforts to improve themselves.
In all SABIS® Network schools, including SABIS® SUN, students are encouraged to take an active role in their education as well as the education of their peers. Organizing Power Study sessions in one of the many ways that students help their peers achieve academic excellence.
