Campus Facilities
Situated in the middle of the beautiful olive gardens of the Khazar region in Baku, the purpose-built school stands on a spacious 67,000 square meter campus. The campus is very close to Heydar Aliyev International Airport and is a part of Dreamland- an exclusive golf and residences complex. The state of the art facilities include science and computer laboratories, an auditorium, extensive sports facilities including two swimming pools, two indoor gymnasiums, and an olympic soccer field, surrounded by a running track.
The Kindergarten department is an independent building with its own indoor swimming pool, a multipurpose indoor sports center, and a special Kindergarten car track.
The school benefits from many Information Technology features including a computerized learning and testing center, interactive white boards and e-learning resources.
In addition, the school has a dining room and a book café for use by the school community.
Kindergarten Classrooms
Kindergarten classrooms are designed and decorated in a warm and friendly manner to welcome the students at school. There are classrooms equipped with computers for the students’ use. Bathrooms and lockers are purpose built to suit the developmental needs of the students .The classrooms are equipped with small tables and chairs for the students to use at meal times. All food is delivered from the school kitchen.
A computer room is designed for young learners to meet and learn the essentials of computers.
An open, enclosed playground equipped with suitable play equipment and a multiple-purpose room equipped with toys is also available to students.
Kindergarten Car Track
The young students can also enjoy a child friendly car park in a safe environment.
Kindergarten Playground
A play area with an all-weather surface and state of the art climbing frames are available for use during break times.
Kindergarten Swimming Pool
The Kindergarten area has an enclosed, heated swimming pool. There are separate changing rooms for boys and girls. There is also an indoor gym, suitable for this age group.
School Buildings
All school buildings are 4 storey purpose-built equipped with air conditioning, teachers rooms and spacious corridors.
Dining Room
The custom-built dining room at SSIS-Baku is equipped with its own commercial standard kitchen and offers students and staff both hot and cold meals.
Auditorium
The auditorium can seat up to 340 persons. It is equipped with state of the art computerized control panels for light and sound, beautiful stage, storage rooms, a practice room, waiting rooms, change rooms, a lobby and a spacious meeting room.
Library
The library offers students a wide range of books. The library is more than a reference center but is a place of developing reading. Students at SSIS-Baku are highly motivated readers.
ITL®: Integrated Testing and Learning® Centre
Students in grades 2 to 12 take their exams in the Integrated Testing and Learning® Centre.
Science Laboratories
The school has three science laboratories for chemistry, biology and physics. They are modern and well-equipped.
Swimming Pool
A semi-Olympic swimming pool is available in the sports complex and is used during P.E. hours and for interschool aquatic carnivals.
Gymnasium
The gymnasium at SSIS-Baku houses an indoor basketball court, volleyball, badminton, and handball and is used for a variety of multipurpose activities.
Computer Laboratory
Modern computers are available for student use.
Athletics and Soccer Field
The green field is a full size foot-ball, all-weather field. It contains a running track and a long-jump pit. Grandstand seating is available on one side of the field for spectators.
Music Room
A well-equipped music room is available on site
Art Room
Students can allow their artistic skills to develop in this well-equipped room.
Outdoor Basketball Courts
The sports complex also contains two outdoor basketball courts.
Security
The campus is a secure place for the students with Security Cameras throughout the school along with supervisors and security personnel.
School Bus Services
The school bus services are provided by a fleet of Mercedes Sprinter minibusses. The busses are equipped with GPS for parents to track busses. All buses have supervisors on board and qualified drivers.
Medical
The school has qualified medical personnel in an onsite infirmary. An ambulance is available throughout the day for emergencies.
